River basin Management – fundamental work of 21st century

We feel really happy to present the annual report for 2009- 2010 of VRTI. Especially in Kutch, looking at present condition and always thinking about future responsibilities, we keep working on since long. On one side in Kutch, in past few years due to advent of industries, progress at its peak level at every sphere of action. On the another hand, in support of life existence, the concept of making more powerful necessity of agriculture, animal husbandry and environment is coming toward. At last, activities like agriculture, animal husbandry, water savings and development of environment area only can make us stable, is of no doubt. So, organization is keep thinking more and more on this direction and doing the activities according to necessity. Recently established soil and water testing laboratory is the best example of it. We are planning to make this laboratory not only for soil and water testing but also for guidance and training the farmers. With that, future trends are being clarified by concentrating on more and more work in water harvesting and environment sectors. Institute is implementing many projects including Drought proofing program.

As consequence, organization has been awarded with nine state and national awards. Such awards increased our enthusiasm and realized our increasing responsibility. Keeping this in mind, we are going to implement outstanding projects with cooperation of government agencies, Industries , funding agencies and individual donors. Public participation in each and every activity of our organization is matter of pride and it is justifying the sentence “Let progress jointly”. Dedication of our employee, experts’ guidance and co operation of funding agency is integral part of our organization. I believe that institute will setup new identity by implementing more and more need based developmental activities in future.

“Scope of organization’s activities through new approach”

Dear Friends,

Since last 36 years our organization is involved in various activities for upliftment of rural area. I feel really happy to publish the annual report for 2009-2010. Scope of our activities is increasing day by day and results are encouraging.

Since last few years our organization is focusing on new approach for implementation of development activities that is to contribute in development of Kutch through public participation i.e. participatory approach.

Generally, in NGOs, activities are based on donation or financial help from funding agencies, but unlike that we are focusing on need based activities. We plan according to requirement and then talking financial help. It means we consider financial help is not as a donation but it is a participation of funding agency and donor. For this purpose we start with micro planning. Our approach is to identify the problems and accordingly, preparation of planning for long term activities. We are happy to say that organization is getting cooperation from corporate sector due to this approach. Best example is collaboration of organization with Cargil Ltd, Excel Group Companies, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) etc. With up scaling scopes of any organization, employees are important facet for best implementation. Ultimately experienced, committed and dedicated group of employees is foundation of development oriented activities of organization. Considering this fact, we adopt the approach to select the new employees as a trainee and train them according to our culture and work style. We are being succeeded to create an environment in which our trained employee can take responsibility in future.

Result oriented activities earns name for organization and expectation from us are obviously being increased. In our progress, elders blessing and cooperation of Excel Group organizations is remarkable. Our responsibilities are also increasing as organization is getting new height year after year. We keep this fact in mind in our day to day operation. We hope that this annual report will show the reflection of our new approach.
